Hi, I’m Beth. For as long as I can remember I’ve always been the designated listener, no matter which group I’ve been in. It’s no surprise then that a career in psychology felt like the natural path for me to take. That was 17 years ago and I’ve never looked back; I’ve now been practising as a psychologist for over eight years within the prison service, the NHS, and now in private practice.

I offer a person centred, trauma informed approach to therapy, providing a safe and friendly space where you can talk about the difficulties you are facing without fear of judgement. I have extensive experience supporting people with complex needs, so you can rest assured that very little will surprise me. I have worked closely with people experiencing anxiety, depression and low mood, distressing or intrusive thoughts, trauma, psychosis, and a range of other difficulties.

I work in a down-to-earth, and easy to understand way because unnecessary complexity in psychology has always frustrated me. I take time to explain psychological concepts clearly and adapt sessions and practical skills to suit your learning style. This can help you feel more confident using them in everyday life to make meaningful changes.

Whatever area you would like to focus on in therapy I use an integrative approach; this means drawing on a range of therapies including CBT, DBT, CFT, ACT, and Schema therapy, enabling me to tailor the work we do to your specific needs and preferences.

Sessions last for 50 minutes and are available online for those over the age of 18 and based in the UK. If a clear, understanding, and tailored approach to therapy sounds like it might be a good fit for you please get in touch to arrange a free 15 minute consultation. We can get a sense of how we connect and discuss what you would like to focus on, along with your goals and preferences, if you know what they might be. From there, we can decide together whether working with each other feels right.

Whether you’re stepping into the world of therapy for the first time, or it’s something you want to re-visit, making that move to make contact can feel really difficult. Please know that you do not need to know all the answers before getting in touch- we can do that together by starting with a conversation and taking it from there..
